It was said that Scotty McCreery is ready joining a baseball team. Here’s complete news from www.cbsnews.com | (CBS/AP) “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery is trading the stage for the pitcher’s mound this spring. He’s going to play on his high school’s baseball team in Garner, N.C., as soon as Brad Paisley’s “Virtual Reality” tour ends mid-March. McCreery, 18, has been on the team for four years, but he couldn’t play last year because he was competing on “American Idol.” Scotty McCreery tells ABC he doesn’t expect special treatment from his coach because “singing don’t really mean you can really play ball well.” So they had to see whether he “had a little something left” in him.
“I’m a pitcher, so I have a feeling when I get on the mound, guys are gonna be taunting me,” he said. “I’m just gonna blow it off and strike ‘em out!”
McCreery, who’s completing school work while on the road, won new artist of the year at the American Country Awards in December. He’s also nominated for this year’s Academy of Country Music new artist of the year Award. Winners will be announced in Las Vegas on April 1.
The North Carolina native has been on tour behind his debut album, “Clear As Day,” featuring the singles “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls.”
